A Nation Greatly Divided

There is an interesting article in the LA Times – Mitt Romney leads a party packed with paranoids and fabulists. The word fabulists simply means liars. In other words, the republican party is filled with paranoid liars.

The cartoon shows an older couple compared to a younger couple. With the younger couple wearing an obama pin.

A few days ago there was a news program talking about how the younger generations are growing more liberal, while the older conservatives are fading away. For example, for the first time in history, less then 50% of the voters say they are Protestant Christians.

Not only is the nation divided by political parties, we are also divided by liberalism and conservatism, and we are divided by religion, or rather the lack of religion.

Free speech and freedom of religion

Over the past few days there has been a lot of talk on the internet about freedom of speech, and how that speech might anger certain religious groups.

If you are offended by what someone says about your religion, too bad. Being offended does not grant you special rights. Being offended does not grant you the right to restrict the rights of others.

The Muslims and the Jews say Jesus was not the messiah. That denial is offensive to me. How dare they say Jesus was not the messiah. I think Jews and Muslims need to shut the hell up, and accept Jesus as the messiah.

As much as we have the right to follow a religion, we should also have the right to be free from religion.

If someone chooses not to follow a religion, nobody should have the right to force their religion upon others. So where do Muslims get off killing Christians who renounce Islam?

Sharia law VS freedom of speech

If we speak out against Islam, the followers of sharia law are supposed to kill us.

So what are we supposed to do, quietly submit to Sharia law and Islam? I do not think so.

As usual, Acts17Apologetics has posted another excellent video on the sharia law issue.

Not only should we have freedom of religion, but we should also freedom “from” religion. By submitting to restrictions on insulting islam, we are submitting to a religion.

The question you need to ask yourself, do you want to live under sharia law? If we are prohibited from insulting islam, what is next?

Random thoughts September 18 2012

2012 Elections

Well, it seems Mitt Romney stuck his foot in his mouth by saying Obama supports see themselves as victims, and that Obama appeals to voters who do not pay taxes.

In other words, the people who vote for Obama are black, lower class and live off welfare.

Yep, I pretty much agree.

Its like the lady during the 2008 election that said if Obama is elected, she will not have to worry about her mortgage.

World War of Religion

Time has an interesting article saying the world war of jihad is almost over. Osama bin Laden is dead, Al-Qaeda leaders are being killed with drone strikes, it finally looks like we have beat back the enemy.

The problem is, who is the enemy? While Al-Qaeda might be losing ground, radical Muslims continue to spread to Europe, Canada and the United States.

Al-Qaeda was based on an idea, ideas are much harder to kill the people. What was one of the driving factors behind Al-Qaeda? Islam.

Whether you like it or not, the war of religion is taking a different route. It is impossible for a group is peasants operating out of caves to bring about the downfall of Europe and the U.S. But what they can do, if infiltrate our society and use our own laws against us.

Over the next few years, maybe the next decade or so, expect to see the term “creeping sharia”. Its where sharia law slowly creeps into a society.

Christianity will be replaced by Islam

My heart hurts to say this, but Christianity is dying. The number of people attending church has been dropping over the past few decades. More young people then ever before are declaring themselves to be atheist. Organizations like the ACLU and atheist groups are waging an all out war on religion in the public sector.

Christianity is being driven underground, and in some cases to extinction, by anti-religion zealots.

This is where Islam comes in. Where Christians usually respect court orders, sharia law does not recognize man-made laws.

When asked about taxes, Christ said “render until Caesar what is Caesars.” In other words, respect the government and abide by the laws.

In contrast to Christ teachings, Islam would have never recognized Caesar as a leader, much less respected the laws that Caesar passed. The only law is sharia law, period.

Christ taught us to love one another.

Islam teaches its followers to kill anyone that disrespects Islam and/or Allah.

Where would humanity be without religion

Over the past few decades there has been a move away from religion. The mindset seems to be, who needs religion when we have science?

Science does not unify people under a common idea, science does not teach a code of morals and values. How many atheist charities are there compared to religion based charities? When a family needs assistance, does the local atheist take up donations?

Where would society be today if religion never existed? I figure we would still be in the iron age, or about 20% behind where we are today.

100,000 – 8,000 years ago

Something happened around 6,000 or 8,000 years ago that made mankind stop roaming the countryside looking for food. What made mankind set down the seeds of civilization? We raised livestock, we planted gardens, we formed communities, we formed nations, we formed governments. Why did it take humanity over 100,000 years to go from hunter gathers, to building nations?

Why was mankind on the planet for 100,000 years, then all of a sudden there was a growth on society in the past 6,000 years? What about the other 94,000 years? What happened for society not to develop?

Why did humanity all of a sudden develop over the past 4,000 – 8,000 years?

Why didn’t we have cities and government 50,000 years ago?

What changed between 100,000 years ago, and 6,000 years ago?

Our modern human civilization began when we moved from a hunter / gatherer, to a farmer / gardener.
